Visible moiré pattern can be significant and detrimental for antenna-on-display screens. A novel simulation algorithm substantially improves speed and efficiency over conventional raytracing while accounting for diverse patterns and real structures. Thus, the visibility of moiré patterns of antenna-on-display can be minimized to ensure superior visual appearance.
18.2 - A Novel Design for Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) with Thin Liquid Crystal Layer for Wireless Communications (2:20 PM - 2:40 PM)
-
Changhyeong Lee, Hyengcheul Choi, Byounggwan Kang, Bo-young Kang, Jae-Won Huh
Corning Technology Center Korea (CTCK) Asan South Korea
-
A reconfigurable intelligent surface for beam direction control in wireless communication is proposed. It uses a liquid-crystal layer, of thickness 20 um, on a glass substrate. A prototype has been characterized. It shows a total response time of 130 ms and a phase difference capable of 1-bit quantization (180° phase difference).
18.3 - MiniLED LCDs Integrated with High-Capacity MIMO Visible Light Communication (2:40 PM - 3:00 PM)
-

Sun Yat-Sen University Guangzhou China
-
Visible light communication (VLC) is of increasing interest. A VLC system that uses 10 columns of the miniLED backlight of an LCD as Tx and a CMOS image sensor camera as Rx in a multiple-input, multiple-output architecture has demonstrated a data rate of 50.4 kbps that is scalable with the number of channels.
18.4 - Distinguished Paper: TDDI Panel of NFC Integration Driving Method Based on Part-time Driving Strategy (3:00 PM - 3:20 PM)
-
Boshi Feng, Xiuyun Chen, Guangquan Wang, Yujie Liu, Feng Long, Site Cai, Xibin Shao
Beijing BOE Display Technology Co., Ltd. Beijing China
-
Near-field communication (NFC) is integrated in a TFT LCD with in-cell touch capability. The time division multiplexing is applied to optimize the noise interference when NFC works. An NFC reading distance of 50 mm is achieved.
