41.1 - Invited Paper: Next-Generation LED Screens – How the Development of Customized LED Modules Helps to Save Resources and Lower Complexity (10:40 AM - 11:00 AM)
  • Michael Schmid, Demian Reyes
Ströer Media Deutschland GmbH Cologne Germany

  • A customized LED module is developed for digital-out-of-home (DOOH) displays that simplifies and standardizes modules for various applications. The design and manufacturing reduce complexity and save power, requiring fewer spare parts and improving logistics. The module can last up to 15 years, and lowers overall life cycle costs.

41.2 - A Patterned Packaging Scheme for a MiniLED Tiled Display with High Transmittance and High Color Consistency in Light and Dark States (11:00 AM - 11:20 AM)
  • Jiao Li, Zezhou Yang, Yuanhao Sun, Wenjia Sun, Ruoyu Ma, Liangliang Jin, Bo Gao
BOE MLED Technology Co., Ltd. Beijing China

  • Large-screen displays have been moving toward tiled solutions. Significant improvements have been achieved with miniLED tiling with greater than 80% transmittance and <0.004 u’v’ variation between multiple modules. A glass cover plate with stable OD BM pattern achieves consistent black with ΔE <0.5 off state between modules.

41.3 - Algorithm Compensation Solution for Tiled OLED Displays (11:20 AM - 11:40 AM)
  • Ting Han, Shi Shiming, Le Zhu, Yuanzhang Zhu, Linchang He, Yajun Li, Bo Peng, Jianbang Huang, Jungyoup Suk, Weifeng Zhou
BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd. Beijing China

  • An 8K 5.57m x 3.133m super-large display is achieved by tiling small AMOLED flexible screens and achieving reduced tiling artifacts. An algorithm compensation solution is developed and verified to address the uneven tiling seams and brightness and chroma between different screens after tiling.
