Preparation Instructions for CHI 2018 Paper Submissions

This web page will acquaint you with the formatting and submission instructions for all aspects of the related files needed for your final version, to the conference publications and the ACM Digital Library, the required fields, and how and when to complete the appropriate ACM rightsreview electronic forms. All submission documents must comply with ACM SIGCHI Templates and Formatting.

Please read the whole page before beginning the final submission process.

1. Submission Deadline & Page Limits
The submission deadlines were set and agreed upon by the chairs, ACM, & Sheridan Communications to ensure the deliverables for attendees and the timely appearance in the ACM DL.Your page limit is set by the category your submission has been selected for:

Submission Deadline: January 8th
Paper = 10 page limit + additional pages for references only
& optional items: accompanying video figure, auxiliary material, & preview video

2. SIGCHI Templates to be Used to Prepare Your Final Version

Click the program you're using to create your final version to obtain the up-to-date ACM SIGCHI templates:

The contact author(s) will have received an email from rightsreview@acm.org with a link to the ACM eforms (electronic copyright-permission forms) to be completed.

  • Await and save the confirmation message from rightsreview@acm.org upon the completion of the assigned ACM eform for the text/to include on the bottom/left of the first page of your submission. This corresponds with step (c).
  • Submission Deadline Reminder: January 8th

We strongly encourage you to review and use the SIGCHI template/sample file above so you will be aware of the copyright strip information (see step c below and the ACM Rights Review Confirmation email), formatting requirements, font requirements, font sizes, and spacing required for the your final version.

4. PCS Final Submission Page Fields. Remember to Submit All the Relevant Information and Correct Files When you Submit. Submit your final version only (not drafts).

Submission Deadline

The submission deadline for your Camera Ready Final Version: January 8th.

Before Submitting
Did you complete the ACM form link from ACM Rightsreview to include your submission in the conference publication and ACM DL? Attend to the form ASAP if you have not done so before submitting, then see the confirmation email from ACM with the correct copyright text to include (see above)

1. When your final version is ready, approved by all authors, copyright block text included, and formatting completed on your submission (along with PDF and all additional files: source, thumbnail, etc). Then access your PCS account and submit all the related files on or before January 8th.

If you are unable to locate your PCS submission link, contact the chairs and PCS administrator.

  2. Complete all mandatory and required fields on the PCS submission page.
Then
Once you've filled out the submission page form, press the submit button at the bottom of the page. A window will pop up to show the progress of your transmission.

5. After You Submit (What to Expect)

Confirmation
You will receive a confirmation screen from the submission system. Upon completion, the submitting author will be alerted of any pending conflicts, font, page size, or empty fields. Attend to the fixes immediately.

OK or Fixes Needed

Within a few days post the submission deadline, the contact author or all authors will be contacted by Sheridan Communications, and will inform you of the following:
(i) That everything is in order with your submission and that your completed ACM eform has been verified.
--AND/OR--
(ii) That you must revise or repair the issues that exist with your submission. Included in this email message will be specific information about how to revise/fix your submission to meet ACM & SIGCHI requirements. The authors are required to attend to the fixes in a timely fashion (by the deadline provided in the email message).
 

Possible ACM form to be re-completed

At the time you completed your ACM eform, it is unknown if you are submitting an accompanying video with your final version. So you might be requested by ACM, the chairs, and/or Sheridan Communications to recomplete a new form based on the processing of your material. Please be patient and attend to the new form if needed right away. The ACM rightsreview forms are now electronic and only take moments to complete.
